Becky (Bengu) Bukey

Professional Profile

She started her music education at the State Conservatory, Opera and Concerts Singing Division. Graduating with honours, she was awarded with a one-year scholarship to further her career with conductor Jean-Yves Gauden in Nice, France.

She started her professional singing career at Izmir State Opera and Bale. She was one of the top coloratura sopranos in region and performed in numerous operas, recitals, and concerts in Turkey, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Canada.

Her performances included concerts in famous historical places such as antique theatres (Ephesus, Bodrum Castle and Bodrum Antique Theatre), historical places (Aspendos, Assos), various churches and concert halls.

She also performed at several recitals in Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Muskoka, Cobourg in Canada. She had several solo concerts and participated in series of concerts called "Golden Moments in Opera" with Magic Flute and Abduction from Seraglio.

She also teaches voice lessons, classical opera and piano to talented students.
