Professional Profile

I started my music education at 12 years old at the State Conservatory, Opera and Concerts Singing Division in 1983. When graduated in 1989 with honours, I was awarded with a one-year scholarship to further my education and career with conductor Jean-Yves Gauden in Nice, France. Same year, I had the opportunity to study oratorio and lied with Professor Helga Zigler.

I started my professional singing career at Izmir State Opera and Bale. I was often referred as the "singer with a beautiful technique and colour" by opera critics and quickly became the lead singer in less than a year. I was one of the top coloratura sopranos in region and performed in numerous operas, recitals, and concerts in Turkey, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Canada.

My performances included concerts in famous historical places such as antique theatres (Ephesus, Bodrum Castle and Bodrum Antique Theatre), historical places (Aspendos, Assos), various churches and concert halls.

Since my arrival to Canada in 1997, I have performed at several recitals in Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Muskoka, Cobourg. I have taken stage in three solo concerts and participated in series of concerts called "Golden Moments in Opera" with arias from Mozart's famous operas; Magic Flute and Abduction from Seraglio.

I now live in Toronto, Ontario with my husband and daughter. I plan to continue my career here. I also teach voice lessons, classical opera and piano to talented students.
